UGA's UGargen Field Trip
Today we had a blast learning about gardening, fruits & veggies, composting and soil! Our group leader, Farmer Wick, was awesome and gave quite the informative tour of the garden. We had a variety of stations and even a fun skit to entertain and teach the kids about soil. We really got some great information on composting--this will help us get a leg-up on the composting project for the year! Enjoy the pictures from today :). I even included a little song to help us remember the steps to compost.

Composting Kick-Off!
We did a lot of brainstorming this week! We have found out that the area that we will need to fill with our compost is 132 square feet. Good job, kiddos!

IXL Winners for September
Congratulations! Lauren & Ming were our top two IXL winners for September. Starting next month I will be looking for two students that spend more time in IXL and two students who complete more IXL skills. So, we will have 4 winners from now on!
It's heating up in 3rd Grade!
Today, we were able to use thermometers to measure temperature. The kids learned about degrees-Fahrenheit & Celsius! We were measuring the temperature of water--cool, hot, and room temperature.
